Aussie Pub & Hotel Sector looking up

According to the latest Pub & Investment News Report released by Jones Lang Lasalle Hotels, the Australian pub sector looks to be improving with transaction volumes in 2010 and 201 providing two consecutive years of strong growth. Whilst two significant portfolio sales in the second half of 2011 give a good indication of returning investor confidence.

Regulatory changes and increased compliance are still on the list of potential threats even though the risk of pre-commitment legislation has lessened.

Additionally restrictions on late trading, reduced beer sales and consumer demand for better quality, locally sourced food has led to a further need for operators to diversify their offerings.

A full overview of current market conditions, state-based snapshots of the Pub and Hotel Sector, a summary of recent sales and current pub and hotel listings can be found in the July issue of the report.
