The best part of my job is helping my clients reach their property ownership goals, whether it be to buy a new home or investment property, secure funds for a renovation or even reduce expenses with a smarter loan option or better interest rate.
My entire working life has been dedicated to providing the gold standard in customer service and I love being able to use my lending experience and knowledge to help my clients fully understand their finance options from a range of banks (not just one) and ultimately, save money in the process.
My knowledge of the home loan market, products, and special offers, coupled with Green Finance Group’s reputation as an industry-leading finance brokerage means I have access to bank decision-makers and can often negotiate a better deal than those advertised – even with your own bank!
Not all banks lend the same
Whether you are a first homebuyer, upgrader, investor, renovator, self-employed borrower or business owner, single applicant, or even an overseas borrower, the fact is, not every bank will look at you the same way and that will impact both the amount of money you can borrow and how much it will cost you.
I have established relationships with over 60 banks and non-bank lenders and access to hundreds of loan products. I know which banks will be receptive to your situation, so you’ll be in a better position to compare loan packages – from interest rates to application costs to terms and loan features. In short, I do the research so you can easily choose the option that works for you.
Help for First Home Buyers
I work with first home buyers and even first-time property investors daily. I can help you to understand which government schemes and additional benefits are currently available to you.
Depending on your circumstances, in addition to government grants you may also be eligible for benefits such as stamp duty exemptions or discounts and reduced or no Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI), and even reduced deposit requirements.
Knowing what is available to you can add up to huge savings over the life of a loan and that’s my specialty. I’ll work with you to:
- provide an overview of how much you can borrow.
- help you compare competitive loan options from 60+ banks & lenders.
- outline your repayment options & loan costs.
- help you apply for grants and take advantage of eligible benefits.
- help you complete your loan paperwork & negotiate with the bank on your behalf.
- provide detailed property reports to help you with your search.
Does refinancing your home loan really save money?
If you are struggling to find savings in your weekly budget right now, you are not alone. It’s fair to say most households are experiencing varying levels of discomfort due to the rising costs of everyday goods and services. But have you considered your current home loan?
As a rule, if it has been more than 18 months since you reviewed your current finance arrangements, you may be able to better your rate, reduce your repayments and/or improve your loan terms and conditions.
New products and special home loan offers are coming to market regularly. Combine this with any changes in your own circumstances, like a new job, and your potential to save could really add up. In just one consultation I can show you how to:
- Save time or money off your home loan
- Reduce your repayments
- Access equity for investment or renovation
- Consolidate multiple loans
- Change your mortgage type i.e. variable to fixed
At the very least knowing what a range of lenders have on offer in the current market can be the negotiating power you need to get a better deal with your own bank. That’s where I can help.
Top Tips for Borrowers
I’m often asked how you should prepare for the home loan process. My recommendation is to do a thorough stocktake of your finances. Having a deposit is only one component of a successful application.
- Keep an eye on discretionary spending leading up to the application. Do you really need 5 streaming subscriptions? It’s not so much about sacrificing your daily coffee as it is about being more cautious of wasted spend.
- Check that any unused credit cards or credit facilities have been formally closed (not just cut up).
- Review any Buy Now Pay Later accounts such as Afterpay or Zip Pay. Your available limits, even if not owing, will impact the way the bank views your ability to repay a loan and can substantially reduce the amount of money you can borrow.
- Get the right team of people on your side. A professional finance broker is a great start. You’ll also need a solicitor or conveyancer, building and pest inspector, possibly an accountant. I work with proven professionals in these fields daily and am always happy to provide quality recommendations.
