For more than seven years I’ve been working behind the scenes, securing, and processing finance loan approvals for hundreds of personal and business finance clients at one of the country’s top 5 banks, ANZ. There isn’t a finance deal that hasn’t crossed my desk in that time, from local business start-ups to families purchasing their first homes and even individuals seeking finance for cars and caravans.

Make sure you know what a range of banks can offer you, not just one. Working with your current bank manager can limit your options. Afterall, you’ve got to fit their criteria and have limited negotiating power. The more loan marketplace information you have, the more negotiating power you have and that means greater chance of a better finance deal.
If you need a business loan, find a finance professional with a proven track record in your industry. Someone who knows which lenders are going to be supportive of your business case and can present a range of options from various banks and non-bank lenders. Your business broker, accountant or solicitor should be able to provide quality recommendations.

Don’t make your decision based on interest rate alone. Naturally you want value for money but don’t sacrifice relevant loan features for a low rate. Loan structure can make all the difference when it comes to saving time and money on your loan. And yes, it is possible to get both, but you need to know who to ask. That’s where I can help.
